
Dash Rev up Bats in Late Innings, Clobber Renegades 11-4

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Winston-Salem Dash defeated the Hudson Valley Renegades 11-4 on Thursday night at Truist Stadium.
Jeremiah Burketook the hill for Winston-Salem and completed two innings of perfect baseball, striking out two batters.
The Dash struck first as Luis Curbelo belted his 20th homer of the year-a two-run blast into left center field-to put the Dash ahead 2-0 in the first inning. The Dash were gifted another run in the third after Renegades starter Matt Sauer threw a wild pitch, plating José Rodriguez.
Jordan Mikel gave up a game-tying three-run homer to Luis Santos in the fifth inning, but the Dash clapped back in the home half after Alex Destino drove in Luis Mieses on a double to left center field.
Winston-Salem blew the game open with a four-spot in the sixth inning. Harvin Mendoza singled to lead off the frame and was pushed to third on a double from Evan Skoug. Both runners scored on a single from Jeremiah Burks, who was pushed across on a triple by Cabeara Weaver. Weaver was guided home on a wild pitch from reliever Nelson Alvarez.
The Dash continued the damage in the seventh inning when Mieses and Destino drew back-to-back walks and were driven in on a double by Luis Curbelo. One batter later, Curbelo was brought home on a groundout fielder's choice.
Hudson Valley squeaked one more run out in the eighth as Anthony Volpe singled and scored on a groundout from James Nelson. After a perfect ninth, the Dash took game three by the score of 11-4 and grabbed their second win of the series.
Jordan Mikel (1-0) collected his first win on the season for Winston-Salem. Matt Sauer (1-2) took the loss for Hudson Valley.
The Dash look ahead to Friday night for game four after taking the series lead. Kaleb Roper will take the bump for Winston-Salem. Randy Vasquez is planned to start for the Renegades.
