Game Summary: Starting pitchers Luis Ramierz and Yoann Torealba put on a show in Hickory on Tuesday night. The game was scoreless going into the bottom of the seventh when the Crawdads scored three. Neil Walker blasted his third double of the night to right center to lead off the inning , then with one out and the bases loaded Mike Hofius grounded a ball to short which appeared to be a tayor made double play but was broken up on the relay by Mike Cockrell. The inning continued with a two RBI single off the bat of Antonio Sucre to make it3-0 after seven. The Shore birds battled back in the eighth with RBI hits from Jake Duncan and Arturo Rivas but another Crawdad run in the bottom of the eighth sealed the victory.
Note: The Shorebirds lead in the northern Division of the SAL is now 3.5 games over Hickory.
