
Cyclones Hand Cutters Second Consecutive Loss

The Williamsport Crosscutters suffered their first consecutive losses of the season with a 9-2 loss on Sunday evening against the Brooklyn Cyclones. The Crosscutters will look to take game three of the series tomorrow night in Brooklyn. Tomorrow night's meeting will be the final time for the two teams this regular season.
Brendon Hayden finished the night 2 for 4 with two singles. Zach Coppola drove in the Cutters first run of the game in the second inning picking up an infield single and scoring William Cuicas from second base to make it a 4-1 game. The Cyclones jumped out to an early lead in the bottom of the first inning thanks to Brandon Brosher. Brosher went deep for the second straight game, but this time with three Brooklyn runners on base for his first grand slam. Mitch Gueller suffered his first loss of the season allowing four runs on five hits through five innings pitched. Gueller struck out three Cyclones batters while walking one after laboring in the first inning. Williamsport cut the Brooklyn lead half in the fourth inning as the Cutters loaded the bases for a third time in the game. Grenny Cumana scored from third base after Jose Pujols grounded into a fielder's choice and beating out the throw at first base to make it a 4-2 game.
Brooklyn added to their lead for good in the bottom of the seventh inning as Broshers continued to be a thorn in the Cutters back clearing the bases with a double to give the Cyclones a 9-2 lead. Broshers finished the game 2 for 3 with 7 RBI. The Cutters used four pitchers on the night with Andrew Godail, Lewis Alezones and Jason Zgardowski pitching one inning. Zgardowski worked a clean eighth inning striking out one batter.
