-SPIKES LOOK TO GET BACK ON TRACK IN AUBURN:The State College Spikes are on the road to continue a three-game set at Falcon Park as the club's 10th Season continues with the middle game of the series against the Auburn Doubledays. The Doubledays took two out of three from the Spikes at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park from June 22-24. The Spikes are 47-47 against the Doubledays over ten seasons, including a 23-23 record in games played in Auburn.

-LAST GAME: Casey Grayson extended his New York-Penn League-leading on-base streak to 15 games, and the Spikes came back to put the go-ahead run at the plate in the ninth, but the Auburn Doubledays held on to take a 4-2 decision on Saturday night at Falcon Park. The loss was just the second in franchise history for the Spikes on July 4, with the other coming to Auburn in 2011 at Falcon Park. Grayson started the scoring with a two-out RBI single in the first inning, and followed with another base hit in the eighth. The University of Houston product now has a batting average of .415 this season, the best in the NYPL. The Spikes trailed, 4-1, going into the ninth inning, but battled back. Brian O'Keefe led the rally with a one-out double, and moved to third on Josh Swirchak's infield single. Thomas Spitz then drove in O'Keefe with a two-out single, his second hit of the game. However, Auburn closer Luis Torres then recorded a strikeout for the final out of the contest. O'Keefe also produced multiple hits for State College.

-BECK GOES TO MOUND FOR SPIKES: Right-hander Landon Beck makes his third start of the year this evening as he faces the Auburn Doubledays for the second time. Beck allowed just one unearned run over five innings against the Doubledays on June 23 in a no-decision. The righty gave up two hits and struck out four in the effort. Last time out, Beck allowed his first earned run of the season as he gave up a single run on three hits, a hit batsman and a walk over four innings. A native of Anderson, SC, Beck is making his fourth appearance of the year, and has struck out seven batters while walking just one over a total of 10 innings on the hill for the Spikes. The righty helped lead Johnson City to the Appalachian League title last year in his debut pro season, going 1-1 with a 3.19 ERA over 13 appearances, eight of them starts, in the regular season. The Anderson University (SC) product also started Game 2 of the Appalachian League semifinals for Johnson City, going five innings in a no-decision.

-BAEZ FACES SPIKES FOR SECOND TIME: Right-hander Joan Baez, who got the start for Auburn on June 23 in State College, makes his third appearance of the season this evening. Baez allowed three runs on four hits, a hit batsman, and a walk over three innings at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, but struck out four batters and did not factor in the decision. The San Cristobal, Dominican Republic native then lasted just one inning, throwing 38 pitches, at home against Brooklyn in a loss on Tuesday. Baez gave up three hits and walked three batters in that outing.

-GRAYSON DELIVERING BIG NUMBERS: Casey Grayson has reached base in all 15 Spikes games so far to post the longest active streak in the New York-Penn League. The University of Houston product now leads the NYPL in batting average, and his .492 on-base percentage ranks first in the league as well. Grayson has been held hitless in just two contests this year, and has eight multi-hit games, including his three-hit performance two nights ago. For the season, Grayson is also 7-for-9, with an .846 on-base percentage, when there are runners in scoring position and two outs. The Cypress, TX native also has a .409 average and .519 on-base percentage overall with runners in scoring position
