PINK IN THE RINK NIGHT

TODAY'S MATCHUP: Not even 48 hours after routing the Trenton Titans, the Cyclones are back on the ice today to welcome in the Kalamazoo Wings in search of their sixth consecutive win. With only three more match-ups against their Mitten State foes this season, each point is crucial. The Clones have amassed a 3-1-1 record versus Kalamazoo this year and not surprisingly it has been a closely-contested season series. Cincinnati has scored 16 goals in the five games while the Wings have collected 15.

SCOUTING THE WINGS: Nick Bootland's club earned back-to-back overtime wins over Toledo this past weekend and sit 13 points back of the Cyclones coming into the day. Aaron Clarke has risen to the top of the Wings scoring list, earning 41 points (16 goals, 25 assists) in 52 games. Brett Lysak and Sam Ftorek sit behind him with 33 points apiece. While the Wings defense has been around the middle of the pack, they are allowing the most shots per game in the conference and second most in the ECHL - an average of 34.7 per game. Goaltender Joel Martin has started in Kalamazoo's last 36 games and is far and away the ECHL's minutes leader. Unfortunately, he's also atop the league in losses (19) and has posted a 23-19-4 record with a 2.69 goals against average.

Shutting the Door: The Clones have been a strong finisher this season. They have amassed 63 third period goals, which ranks 3rd most in the ECHL. Not surprisingly, they are 19-0-0-1 when leading after 40 minutes of play.

Setting the Tempo: Getting an early lead is always a big factor in getting wins. When scoring the game's first goal, the Cyclones have accumulated a 24-5-1-1 record. Their win totals are third-most in the ECHL.

Rule Of Three: It seems that, this season, the key number is "3." When the Clones hold their opponents to three goals or less, they're 28-4-4-1. When Cincinnati posts more than three goals, they have amassed a staggering 19-1-0-1 record.
