Trenton Titans News Release

Last Meeting

January 27, 2013 - Murphy's Law was in effect in Elmira as every bounce that could go against the Titans did. After cutting a first period deficit to 2-1, the Jackals scored the final six goals in an 8-1 win. Since then ELM has gone 5-3 (2-2 Road) and TRE is 3-4-1 (1-1-1 Home).

Next Meeting

No need to get a local hotel room, but Elmira will be back here real soon for a more conventional 7:05 pm start on Friday February 22.

Not A Chance Meeting

This is the 10th of 16 games between these two and the 5th of eight in Trenton.

Feeling Offensive

ELM and TRE have averaged just under nine goals (8.6) per game in the nine meetings this year

Not Usually This Lopsided

The Jackals and Titans have notoriously played one or two-goal games, usually with late heroics. The 8-1 Jackals win last meeting was the most lopsided since Trenton won in the final meeting in NY last year by the same score, exactly one year ago today. It was also the largest margin of victory for Elmira since winning the season opener at home last year over the Titans, 7-3.

DID YOU KNOW?

Courtesy of Elmira PBP man Ray Schmitt: The month of February has belonged to Elmira's line of Jordan Pietrus, Kevin Harvey, and Rob Bellamy. The trio has combined for 30 points (15G, 15A) over the Jackals' last seven games (5-2-0). The only game in which they were held without a point was February 1 in Toledo. Pietrus has led the charge with 13 points (7G, 6A) over that span while Harvey has also scored at least one point (4G, 5A) in each of those seven games. Rob Bellamy has eight points (4G, 4A) in that time.
