Tonight's Matchup: Tonight the Cyclones will kick off a five-game road trip beginning with their final visit to the Evansville IceMen in 2014-15. The Clones have won seven of their eight get-togethers with their Hoosier State foes and, more impressively, have shut them out in each of the last two.

Scouting the IceMen: Al Sims' club continues to struggle finding success, losing nine of their last ten games. Coming into the night, they sit 19 points out of a playoff spot and 21 points behind Cincinnati. Rookie Braden Pimm, who was acquired in a trade this week, is Evansville's active point leader - with 36 tallies (19g, 17a) in 46 games. Robin Soudek has also been solid since coming over from Rapid City, notching 10 points in his 14 games with Evansville and has amassed 31 points overall. Former Cyclones net minder Brandon Komm remains their leading man between the pipes with Chris Driedger still recalled. Overall, he's 2-3-1-1 with a 2.76 goals-against average.

Last Time Out: The Royals pulled out in front in the second period and never looked back as they defeated the Cyclones by a 4-1 final score in front of 6,994 at U.S. Bank Arena last Saturday night. Branden Gracel notched the only Cyclones goal for his 11th lamplighter of the season.

Remarkable Rookie: The Cyclones have enjoyed great goaltending stability from Sam Brittain. The University of Denver standout ranks second among active rookie goaltenders with a 2.71 goals-against average and an 89.5% save percentage. This season for the Cyclones, Brittain has compiled a 14-11-0-1 record.

Efficiency for Reed: Cyclones defenseman Chris Reed continues to enjoy a career season on offense. The fourth-year pro has posted seven goals and seven assists this year, on pace to smash his previous point plateau of 18. More impressively, he ranks fifth among all ECHL defensemen with a 13.7% shooting percentage.
