Allen Americans News Release
Allen, Texas - Members of the Allen Professional Firefighters Association and the Allen Police Association will be taking part in the annual Red-Blue Game tonight, at 5:00 pm at Allen Event Center. This game will hit the ice at 5:05 pm, right before the Allen Americans hockey game against the Brampton Beast at 7:05 pm .
Matt Johnson, President of the Allen Police Association commented,
"A portion of the proceeds from this game go to the Allen Public Safety Recovery Program that assists public safety employees financially during their time of need due to on the job injuries as well as the Special Olympics."
Tickets, which are good for both games, can be purchased at Allen Event Center Box Office, or at either the Allen Firefighters or Allen Police association websites.
Jeremy Painkin, President of the Allen Professional Firefighters stated,
"This is a great community event and good fun for the whole family. There will be live music, bounce houses and games for the kids, and of course fire trucks and police cars on display at the Grande Communications Plaza, with plenty of food and beverages for everyone to enjoy."
The Allen Americans will be wearing specialty Allen Police/Fire jerseys, with a post-game jersey auction following the conclusion of the Americans/Beast game.
The Allen Americans are coming off a 4-2 road win over Quad City on Wednesday night. Allen still has the most points in the league (78) one ahead of Fort Wayne (77).
Chad Costello leads the ECHL in points with 87, one behind the Americans all-time single season high, 88, by Colton Yellow Horn in 2010-2011.
