February 28, 2015 - ECHL (ECHL)
Florida Everblades News Release
ESTERO FL - Sean Dolan's goal with 1:27 remaining in regulation lifted the South Carolina Stingrays to a 4-3 win over the Florida Everblades at Germain Arena Saturday night. The Stingrays extend their win streak to 13 straight games.
After a scoreless first, Florida got on the board halfway through the second on a tally by Captain Jordan Henry. Mitch Wahl took the initial shot in the slot. but the puck deflected off a skate and directly to Henry low on the left wing. Henry lifted the puck into the net for the goal. The marker was Henry's fourth in the last five games.
South Carolina's Derek Dublois evened the game late in the second period on a wrister from the right wing circle at 18:21 of the second period.
Florida took a 3-1 lead on tallies from Mike Little and Adam Brace. Little's goal came when he was fed the puck in the slot and he snapped a shot past the glove of Jeff Jakaitis to give Florida the lead.
Nearly three minutes later, Adam Brace broke into the zone on the left wing and unleashed a slapshot that ripped into the South Carolina net, to extend the lead to 3-1.
The lead did not last long as South Carolina scored three unanswered in the final 13 minutes of regulation. The first came when a Frankie Simonelli's shot from the point hit off the end wall and bounced back in front to the right of an unsuspecting Andy Iles. Joe Devin cradled the loose puck and squeezed the puck into the net for the goal.
Andrew Rowe tied the game at three at 13:55 of the period. Rowe took a shot that deflected up in the air and clipped behind an outstretched Iles for the tally.
South Carolina capped off the rally when Sean Dolan raced into the zone behind the defense and wristed the puck high into the net with 1:27 remaining in regulation to secure the 4-3 win.
Jakaitis earns the win stopping 22 of 25 shots, while Iles takes the loss allowing four goals on 22 shots.
