The Eagles claimed the first goal of the contest just 5:03 into the game when Eagles forward Nathan Moon fed linemate Chris Knowlton who flew through the neutral zone before cutting across the slot and beating Aces netminder Niklas Lundstrom for the early 1-0 lead.

Eagles captain Trent Daavettila would continue the Eagles scoring 5:49 into the second, sniping a bullet past Lundstrom to give the Eagles a 2-0 advantage on the power play.
