Stingrays Game Preview: Stingrays Close Road Trip and Chase History Tonight against Everblades

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays wrap up a three-game in three-day Florida road trip tonight against the Florida Everblades at 7:00 at Germain Arena in Estero, Florida for the 10 of 11 meetings between to the two East-Division rivals this season.

Series Breakdown:

The Stingrays defeated the Everblades 5-3 last night to snap a six-game losing streak against their long-time rivals and improve to a 2-7-0-0 head-to-head record. All time, the Stingrays sit 72-69-16 against the Everblades.

Chasing History:

The Stingrays tied the Reading Royals for the longest winning streak in the ECHL this season with their 12th consecutive victory last night and are just the 16th team in ECHL history to record a winning streak of at least 12 games. Overall, the streak is tied for the seventh longest in the ECHL's 27-year history. With a win tonight, the Stingrays tie the longest winning streak in team history set back in 2009 that stretched from November 24 to December 19. During the streak, the Stingrays have outscored opponents 53-18.

Road Warriors:

In addition to the 12-game winning streak, the Stingrays are victorious in their last seven consecutive road contests. The longest road winning streak in team history is 10 games set back in 2000 from November 2-December 9.

Inching Closer in the Standings:

Enter tonight's contest, the Stingrays (3rd place, 67 points) and Everblades (2nd place, 72 points) are separated by five points in the East Division standings.

The Stingrays honor the men and women of the Armed Forces on Military Appreciation Night presented by APECS Aerospace Corporation, Precision Airparts Support Services, United Aeronautical Corporation, U.S. Technical and Heritage Pools on Saturday, March 14 at 7:05 p.m. at the Coliseum. WCW and WWE Champion Ric Flair will fire up the crowd as the Stingrays skate in special "Stars and Stripes" jerseys and auction them off after the contest.
