Cyclones Edge Stingrays on Faith and Fun Night

North Charleston, SC -The Cincinnati Cyclones (27-25-6-3) blanked the South Carolina Stingrays (33-26-2-2) 2-0 on Faith and Fun Night presented by 100.9 Way FM in front of 4,260 at the North Charleston Coliseum Saturday afternoon.

Stingrays goaltender Shane Owen and Cyclones keeper Brian Foster kept both sides off the scoreboard until the 8:50 mark of the final frame when Cyclones forward Dustin Sproat lifted a shot over the left pad of Owen from between the faceoff circles. Forwards Brady Calla and Jake Hauswirth earned assists. Forward Samson Mahbod sealed the victory with an empty-net goal from Sproat at 19:56.

Foster recorded his first shutout of the season stopping all 29 Stingrays shots. Owen suffered the loss blocking 23 of 24 Cyclones opportunities. The Stingrays ended the night 0-for-6 on the power play while the Cyclones went 0-for-2.
