
Curve Lose Sixth Straight in 12 Innings at Trenton

TRENTON, N.J. - The Altoona Curve were handed their sixth straight loss, 4-3, in 12 innings at the hands of the Trenton Thunder on Tuesday night at ARM & HAMMER Park.
The Curve (42-35) extended their season-worst losing streak while the Thunder (42-35) picked up their second extra-inning, walk-off win in a row.
With the bases loaded in the 12th, Eddy Rodriguez hit a walk-off single to left field to plate the winning run. Reliever Jhondaniel Media (Loss, 1-3) had the bases loaded and no outs, but was able to get a strikeout and an out at the plate prior to the game-ending hit.
The Curve fell behind 2-0 in the first inning, but got a run on the board in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Jose Osuna.
Trenton extended its lead to 3-1 in the fifth with a solo home run by Jose Rosario.
Altoona tied the game in the seventh with an RBI double by Max Moroff that followed a run-scoring single by Adam Frazier.
Mike Montgomery (Win, 1-1) worked a scoreless top of the 12th, pitching around a pair of walks.
Curve starter Chad Kuhl allowed two runs in the first inning, but settled in to work 5.2 innings, giving up three runs on six hits.
Moroff went 3-for-5 with a double and a walk. Frazier also had three hits.
The game was delayed for 25 minutes for rain in the bottom of the fifth.
Altoona and Trenton play the second game of the four-game set on Wednesday night at ARM & HAMMER Park. Lefty Steven Brault (0-1, 3.48) will start for the Curve, countered by Thunder left-hander Matt Tracy (0-0, 0.00). First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
