
RubberDucks, Clevinger Wait out Rain for Win

Akron RubberDucks News Release
Following a two hour and fourteen minute rain delay, the Akron RubberDucks defeat Binghamton 1-0 behind an outstanding start by Michael Clevinger Monday night at Canal Park.
Turning Point
In the bottom of the fourth inning Destin Hood hit a weak ground ball to the third baseman, Ryan Rohlinger who was on third base broke for home on the crack of the bat, the only play the Binghamton third baseman had was at first allowing Rohlinger to score.
Mound Presence
Michael Clevinger (5-3) started for the RubberDucks and pitched a gem in 7.2 innings. Clevinger allowed only two hits and one walk while striking out nine batters. The Akron starter has struck out 20 batters in his last three starts with only three walks. The bullpen took over from there, Enosil Tejeda and Jeff Johnson pitched a scoreless 1.1 innings of relief. Michael Fulmer (2-1) takes the loss for the B-Mets despite striking out nine Akron hitters in seven innings.
Duck Tales
The offensive struggles continued for Akron, the RubberDucks were limited to only three hits. The only run of the game was unearned in the fourth inning due to an error on the Binghamton third baseman. Akron's lone extra-base hit was an Anthony Gallas double to center.
Notes
Ronny Rodriguez extended his hitting streak to seven games with a single in center field in the second inning. Rohlinger was transferred from Columbus and made his first start of the season for Akron, he went 1-for-3 with a run scored...Johnson converted his 12th save in 12 chances.
