The Hot Rods shut the TinCaps down from there, scoring an insurance run in the seventh on Steve Tinoco's RBI double.

Bowling Green RHP Eliazer Suero (7-4) was the winning pitcher as he worked five innings. Fort Wayne RHP Adys Portillo (2-11) was chased in the fourth inning and took the loss.
