Lake County Captains News Release
(Midland, MI)- Chris Jacobs delivered a two-out single to center scoring Bobby Coyle in the fourth inning giving Great Lakes a 1-0 lead on Wednesday night. The Loons defeated Lake County 3-0 at Dow Diamond.
Leon Landry and Casio Grider each added RBI singles in the fifth inning increasing the lead to 3-0.
Rick Anton (1-0) picked up his first professional win tossing five scoreless innings of two hit baseball, no walks and two strike outs. Mike Goodnight (5-11) took the loss allowing three runs on four hits, walking three and striking out three in 4.1 innings of work.
Lake County and Midland continue the series on Thursday night at Dow Diamond with first pitch set for 7:05PM. RHP Felix Sterling (2-0) takes the mound for the Captains against LHP Greg Wilborn (2-2) for the Loons. Catch all the action AM1330 WELW or online at captainsbaseball.com.
