
Cubs Dominate Loons with 11-4 Victory

SOUTH BEND, IN - South Bend's offensive explosion continued Friday night and capitalized on two Great Lakes errors to propel the Cubs to an 11-4 victory.
Jake Slaughter hit his second home run of the year to catapult South Bend to a 5-1 lead. Owen Caissie continues to heat up, driving in two runs in the 1st inning and another run in the 6th.
Starter Manuel Espinoza went a season high 5.2 innings giving up only 2 hits and 1 earned run while striking out six.
Bailey Reid would come in relief of Espinoza for an inning and a third giving up only one hit while Jeremiah Estrada closed the door for two innings striking out three.
RHP Kohl Franklin (0-3) gets the start for South Bend tomorrow against LHP Lael Lockhart (1-0). It's Military Appreciation weekend at Four Winds Field presented by Legacy Heating and Air. All active-duty military and veterans receive two free tickets to the game. Gates at 5:00pm and first pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm on Saturday and Sunday.
