Crunch Announce Details of Metalico 'scrappiest Player of the Year' Award

Syracuse, NY (October 15, 2010) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today the details of the Metalico 'Scrappiest Player of the Year' award.

Through a season-long voting campaign, fans will have the opportunity to select the Metalico 'Scrappiest Player of the Year'. Fans will be encouraged to vote for the player they feel best exemplifies the 'scrappiest' qualities.

The player with the most votes at the end of the season will be named the Metalico 'Scrappiest Player of the Year' and be presented with the award in an on-ice ceremony prior to the last home game of the season on April 9 vs. Norfolk. The award will be created by Metalico and consist of molded scrap metal which has been collected at their facility.

Fans can cast their vote on the Crunch's official website, www.syracusecrunch.com.

The Crunch travel to Glens Falls, NY to face the Adirondack Phantoms on Friday, October 15 before hosting Binghamton on Saturday, October 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the War Memorial at Oncenter. Season tickets for the 2010-11 season are on sale and can be purchased by calling the Crunch office at (315) 473- 4444, or by stopping by the Crunch office in the War Memorial at Oncenter, located at 800 South State Street in downtown Syracuse.
