For the second straight night, two of the top three offensive teams will meet as the Kalamazoo Wings host the Charlotte Checkers. Last night was anything but offensive, as the K-Wings earned a 2-1 victory over the Checkers. Kalamazoo leads the season series over Charlotte with a record of 2-0-0-0.
Held to two goals last night, Kalamazoo leads the ECHL averaging a robust 3.88 goals a game. Kalamazoo's victory last night coupled with a Cincinnati's loss to Wheeling propels the K-Wings back into first place in the North Division, one point ahead of the Cyclones.
Generating one goal last night, the Checkers still are averaging 3.55 goals a game, which is third-best in the league. The loss last night snapped Charlotte's three-game winning streak; however, with 40 points, the Checkers still hold a point advantage over the Florida Everblades for second place in the South Division.

Randall Behind the Bench
Tonight two-year season ticket holder Dennis Randall will become assistant coach for the night. Randall was honored as assistant coach for being selected as January's Two-Year Season Holder contest winner.
Striking First
Kalamazoo is 15-2-3-0 when they score before their opponents, a winning percentage of 87.5%. Scoring first has also been huge league-wide, as the teams that have registered on the scoreboard first are 236-69-23-17, a winning percentage of 74.2%.
A Week of Milestones
Tonight is the 100th career game for forward Rick Cleaver. Earlier in the week, Cleaver earned his 100th career point on a game-winner against the Johnstown Chiefs.
Streaking Along
A victory last night the K-Wings winning streak to four games. Kalamazoo's longest winning streak of the season is six games set from October 15th-October 30th.
