ECHL All-Star Game Television Broadcast Available In Over 66 Million Homes

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL announced that the 2010 ECHL All-Star Game presented by Reebok Hockey and brought to you by Toyota and the City of Ontario will be available in more than 66 million homes.

The game will be available live in over 56 million homes on Altitude Sports & Entertainment including on DirecTV (Channel 682) and Dish Network (Channel 448), B2 Television, Buckeye Cable Sports Network in Ohio, Fox Sports West, GCI in Alaska and Metro Sports in Kansas City.

It will be rebroadcast on Altitude Sports & Entertainment in Colorado (Jan. 21 at 1 p.m. MT and Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. MT), Bright House Sports Network in Florida (Jan. 21 at 2 p.m. ET and Jan. 22 at 12 p.m. ET), Comcast SportsNet in California (Jan. 21 at 1 p.m. PT), Cox Sports in Rhode Island (Jan. 22 at 9 p.m. ET) and New England Sports Network (Jan. 21 at 3:30 p.m. ET). B2 Television is powered by One World Sports on America One and is available in more than 44 million households in over 125 markets.

The 2010 ECHL All-Star Game presented by Reebok Hockey and brought to you by Toyota and the City of Ontario will be hosted by the Ontario Reign at Citizens Business Bank Arena and played on Jan. 20, 2010 while the 2010 ECHL All-Star Skills Competition will be held on Jan. 19, 2010.

Jack Michaels of the Alaska Aces will be the play-by-play announcer while veteran NHL analyst Neil Smith will provide color commentary for the ninth year in a row and Doug Plagens of the Idaho Steelheads will work at ice level interviewing players, coaches and representatives from the ECHL and the National Hockey League.

The game will be produced by ConCom, Inc. which produced the ECHL All-Star Games in Peoria, Ill. in 2004, Reading, Pa. in 2005 and 2009, Fresno, Calif. in 2006 and Boise, Idaho in 2007. Bruce Connal has been producing sporting events for 30 years, including 20 years of doing the NHL for ESPN. Al Connal oversees ConCom, Inc. which last year produced 75 sporting and entertainment events including Ultimate Fighting Championships, LPGA Golf and World Cup Skiing.

Former ECHL broadcasters working in the National Hockey League include John Ahlers and Steve Carroll of the Anaheim Ducks, Tom Callahan of the Nashville Predators, Dave Goucher of the Boston Bruins, Chris Kerber of the St. Louis Blues, Dave Mishkin of the Tampa Bay Lightning, Bob McElligott and John Michael of the Columbus Blue Jackets and Rob Simpson, who is a producer/host for The NHL Network.

Seven coaches from the ECHL All-Star Game have gone on to coach in the National Hockey League while 58 players from the contest have gone on to play in the NHL, including 33 since 2002 when the lineups began having players who coaches felt were prospects to move up to a higher level.

The third class will be inducted into the the ECHL Hall of Fame on Jan. 20, 2010 during a luncheon ceremony at the Hilton Ontario Airport, the official host hotel of the 2010 ECHL All-Star Game presented by Reebok Hockey and brought to you by Toyota and the City of Ontario. The featured speaker at the ECHL Hall of Fame luncheon will be Hockey Hall of Fame member and Los Angeles Kings President of Business Operations Luc Robitaille.

Tickets for the luncheon are $40 each or a table with seven tickets can be purchased for $250. The past seven ECHL All-Star Games have generated more than $1 million each for the local economy as guests, players, coaches and fans occupy hundreds of hotel rooms and spend three days in the host city.

The Stanley Cup and the Patrick J. Kelly Cup will both be on display throughout the event, marking the 10th time in the last 11 years that the NHL championship trophy and the ECHL championship trophy have been displayed together at the All-Star Game.
