Springfield Reassigns Goaltender Sorochan To Thunder

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, the proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers and American Hockey League's Springfield Falcons, announced goaltender Aaron Sorochan (SOAR-oh-chan) has been reassigned to the Thunder from Springfield.

Sorochan, 25, is under contract to Springfield and in 10 AHL games, he has compiled a record of 1-5-0, a.871 save percentage and a 3.99 goals-against-average.

He was originally assigned to the Thunder on Jan. 1 and has appeared in one ECHL game, making 38 saves against Idaho on Jan 1.

The 6-foot, 185-pound goaltender skated with Edmonton in NHL preseason training camp and previously competed for four seasons in college with the University of Alberta (CIS). Last season, Sorochan guided the Alberta to a Canada West Hockey championship and posed a record of 15-1-2 in 18 games with a 1.66 goals-against-average and.937 save percentage.

Additionally, the Thunder released emergency backup goaltender Matt Pamidi.

The Thunder was voted "Best Local Sports Team" by readers of the San Joaquin Magazine, has led the ECHL in attendance for four consecutive seasons and drew 223,854 fans to Stockton Arena in 2008-09.
