
Countdown to Face-Off: K-Wings at Nailers

This afternoon will be the first of three meetings between the Kalamazoo Wings and the Wheeling Nailers. All-time, the K-Wings are 12-7-1-1 versus the Nailers. No strangers to one another, the teams have also met in the postseason in each of the past two seasons.
Trying to rebound after dropping back-to-back games, the K-Wings will look to finish their brief two-game road swing. With 61 points, Kalamazoo is tied with the Fort Wayne Komets for third place in the North Division and for ninth place in the Eastern Conference.
Today is the third-leg of a four-game home stand for the Wheeling, who is 1-0-0-1 during the stretch thus far. The Nailers hit the ice with 58 points on the season, which places them in 10th place in the Eastern Conference, 10 points behind the Florida Everblades for a playoff berth.

Kalamazoo won seven road games in the month of February. The seven road victories are one road win less than what the K-Wings won from October-January.

Last night for the eighth straight game, the K-Wings were outshot by their opponents. On the season, Kalamazoo has only outshot their opposition in 17 games, going 6-9-2-0 in those contests.
