The Aces penalty kill was the story of the opening period, killing off an extended two-man advantage for Bakersfield. Alaska killed off all four Condors chances in the game, to extend their streak of successful penalties killed to 34 straight. The Aces outshot the Condors 10-9 in the scoreless period.

For the second straight game, the Aces finally broke through in the second period with the first goal of the game. On a delayed Condors penalty, Alaska's Nick Mazzolini and Shawn Skelly helped extend the play and eventually worked the puck to Alex imbeault, who chipped a backhander from the top of the crease past Bakersfield netminder Brian Stewart at 11:42. The Aces kept the Condors to just three second-period shots and took a 1-0 lead into the final frame.

Alaska once again controlled the pace in the third period, but Bakersfield remained within a goal until the closing minutes. Eventually the Aces pulled away with two late goals 69 seconds apart. Alex Hudson scored his third goal against his former team on a redirection at 16:07 from Chris Clackson, and Spencer Bennett followed that with a wrist shot from the slot for his seventh goal in 15 games since joining the Aces at 17:16. Coleman and the Aces kept Bakersfield scoreless down the stretch for Alaska's fifth team shutout of the season. The game marked the first time this season that Bakersfield was shut out.

Gerald Coleman (20-4-1) made 20 saves on 20 shots earning the win. Brian Stewart (8-22-3) made 40 saves on 43 shots, while taking the loss. The Aces went 0-2 on the power play and the Condors were 0-4. Alaska outshot Bakersfield 43-20 in the game.
