Eagles Earn 10th Playoff Berth in as Many Seasons

March 3, 2013 - ECHL (ECHL)
Colorado Eagles News Release

LOVELAND, Colo. - By losing in regulation this evening in Alaska, the Bakersfield Condors helped the Colorado Eagles secure a spot in the ECHL's upcoming Kelly Cup playoffs. It marks the 10th time in the club's 10 seasons of existence that the Eagles have earned a playoff berth. They are the 6th team in the 23-team league to qualify for the postseason, which starts in April. Information on playoff ticket sales will be available in the coming days on www.ColoradoEagles.com.

Colorado is currently ranked 6th in the Western Conference with a record of 28-25-5 (61 pts.), four points behind the defending Western Conference playoff champion Las Vegas Wranglers (30-24-5), whom they defeated, 5-3, Saturday night in Las Vegas.

As part of the team's playoff marketing theme, it's asking its fans to "Be The Advantage," a nod to the record-setting support the team has received from its fans at the Budweiser Events Center, where it has experienced incredible success over the past decade. In addition to holding the minor pro hockey record for consecutive sellouts, the Eagles have an all-time regular season record of 231-70-20 -- a .751 winning percentage -- at their home rink.

Colorado is currently on its busiest road trip of the season, with its next game coming Tuesday night against the Idaho Steelheads.
