KING KOEHN:

It has been a week to remember for veteran forward Koehn Ziemmer. The LA Kings prospect was named the WHL's Player of the Week. The Cougars alternate captain tallied nine points (4G-5A) and a plus-3 rating in four games as Prince George went 3-1-0-0 over that stretch. Last week, Ziemmer signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Los Angeles Kings. Ziemmer heard his name called at the 2023 NHL Draft in Nashville by the Kings in the third round, 78th overall. Ziemmer is the first WHL player LA drafted since Jarrett Anderson-Dolan (Spokane) in 2017. The Mayerthorpe, AB native is the first Cougar in franchise history to be selected by the Kings. The soon-to-be 19-year-old played in two pre-season games for the Kings and had one assist in those contests.
