Edmonton, Alta. - The Edmonton Oil Kings scored four unanswered goals in the third, defeating the Regina Pats 4-2 on Friday inside Rogers Place.
The Pats got off to a great start, which continued after 40 minutes of play. The Pats led 2-0 after one, outshooting Edmonton 16-9 in the opening period after goals from Logan Peskett and Tanner Howe.
In the third, the Oil Kings scored four times (with one being an empty netter) in the final eight minutes of the contest to snap their three game losing-streak. They got goals from John Szabo, Skyler Bruce, Marc Lajoie (GWG) and Ty Nash and a 27 save performance from Kolby Hay.

THE GOALS
First Period
1-0 Pats at 1:51 - Logan Peskett (2), assisted by Parker Berge & Ewan Huet // Berge entered the Oil Kings zone on the right side and he spun and fired the puck towards the net where Peskett was johnny-on-the-spot as he ripped home his first goal as a Pat to give the Pats a 1-0 lead early in the contest.
2-0 Pats at 19:38 - Tanner Howe (15), assisted by Anthony Wilson & Kolten Bridgeman // Wilson won a battle for the puck deep in the Oil Kings zone and found Howe at the left circle who fired the puck past Hay to give the Pats a 2-0 lead late in the opening period.
Second Period
No scoring.
Third Period
2-1 Oil Kings at 12:23 - John Szabo (4), assisted by Marshall Finnie // Szabo entered the Pats zone with speed and fired a wrist shot from the right circle that beat Huet to the blocker side to get the Oil Kings to within one at 2-1.
2-2 Oil Kings at 14:57 - Skyler Bruce (9), assisted by Gavin Hodnett & Vojtech Port (PP) // The Oil Kings worked the puck deep in the offensive zone as Bruce got the puck to the left side of the net and was able to get a shot on Huet that beat him low to tie the game up at 2-2.
3-2 Oil Kings at 17:30 - Marc Lajoie (8), assisted by Gavin Hodnett & Ty Nash // Lajoie grabbed the puck along the left boards and threw a blind shot at the net that beat Huet low to give the Oil Kings their first lead of the game at 3-2 late in the third period.
4-2 Oil Kings at 19:13 - Ty Nash (2), assisted by Gavin Hodnett (EN) // A turnover at the Pats line gives the Oil Kings a breakaway and they easily deposited the empty netter to seal it at 4-2.
