On The Road Again...

...but the Hawks will be back on home ice in no time! Tonight's contest kicks off a run of three games in three nights, a busy stretch to conclude Thanksgiving week. After a brief foray up the highway, the Winterhawks return home for back-to-back weekend showings at the VMC - first on Saturday against Saskatoon, then on Sunday against Spokane.

Schedule congestion is never easy to navigate, as the Hawks learned at the start of their recent Eastern Conference road trip. But having that experience to lean on stands to benefit them this time around - not to mention getting two of the three games in front of the Portland faithful. As the Hawks look to start the slate with a fourth win over Everett on the year, tune in on WHL Live, enjoy some leftovers and get ready to bring the noise the rest of the weekend!

Familiar Foe

The boys are loading up the bus again after a brief three-game homestand to visit a team they've gotten to know very well this season. The Winterhawks and Silvertips have already squared off three times during the 2023-24 campaign, more than the Hawks have seen any other club, with Portland taking all three contests.

Their last tilt came less than a week ago at the VMC, a 6-4 thriller that Portland won on the strength of two-goal efforts by Carter Sotheran and Josh Davies. Davies and Gabe Klassen lead the season series with five points apiece through three matchups, followed by James Stefan with four. Austin Roest and Julius Miettinen have each picked up three points for the Tips.

The Full 60

As they seek a third straight win, the Winterhawks will be keen to correct a trend from the last two games which saw the team cough up late leads against both Everett and Victoria. The Silvertips came back to within a goal after being down 5-1, while the Royals erased a two-goal hole in the third period and forced a shootout on Wednesday. It's telling of Portland's resolve and talent that they won both games, but look for even more focus on finishing off their opponent if the Hawks can jump out to a lead tonight.
