Rockets To Host Teddy Bear Toss Tomorrow

The Kelowna Rockets will host the Seattle Thunderbirds for their annual Orchard Ford Teddy Bear Toss on Saturday at Prospera Place - puck drop is set for 7:05 pm.

Fans are asked to bring new stuffed animals to the game with them, when they enter the building there will be plastic bags available for them to place their animal into - the bag helps protect the stuffy from water. When the Rockets score their first goal, fans will throw their bears over the glass onto the ice which will then be collected and donated to patients at Kelowna General Hospital.

Quick Turnaround

After both teams played on the road on Tuesday, the Rockets and T-Birds opened their four-game season series on Wednesday in Kent, where Seattle blanked Kelowna 2-0. To read more about Wednesday's game view the last time these two met below.

Kelowna is off on Friday before hosting Seattle for the rematch. Meanwhile, the Thunderbirds will host the East Divisions Saskatoon Blades on Friday for a 2:05 pm matchup before heading to Kelowna for Saturday.

ROCKETS ROSTER UPDATES

Rockets leading scorer Andrew Cristall was listed out day-to-day on this week's injury report with an upper-body injury. Cristall skated with the team on Friday and could make his return to the lineup on Saturday.

Kayden Longley missed the last game with a lower-body injury, he's listed out one to two weeks.

Trae Johnson has missed the last two games with an upper-body injury

ROCKET TO WATCH

Andrew Cristall is the only Rocket on the roster to have scored a teddy bear goal, making the stuffed animals fly in 2021. Cristall who has missed the Rockets last four games with an upper-body injury and is listed day-to-day has resumed skating and could return to action as early as Saturday.

THUNDERBIRD TO WATCH

Buffalo Sabres prospect Scott Ratzlaff was in net to blank the Rockets on Tuesday, turning aside all 19 shots fired on him.

Both teams were in action the night before, with the T-Birds playing in Kennewick against the Tri-City Americans and the Rockets bussing down to Kent following their game against Lethbridge.

Tuesday's game between the two was a penalty-filled game that saw both teams combine for eight power-play attempts but struggle to capitalize on the man advantage. The Thunderbirds scored the lone power play goal of the game, which held up as the eventual game-winner. Seattle added an empty net goal in the final minutes of the game.

Jari Kykkanen earned the second star of the game after stopping 35 of the 36 shots fired on him, while Buffalo Sabres prospect Scott Ratzlaff stopped all 19 Rockets shots he faced for his seventh career shutout.

The Kelowna Rockets online 50/50 is back for the 2023-24 season!

The online 50/50 will give fans in Rockets fans located in British Columbia and those who are attending the game the chance to win during every Rockets home game this season. The 50/50 will also raise important dollars for the Kelowna Minor Hockey Association.

Tickets will be available for purchase on all game days starting at 9 a.m. PT and end at the start of the third period on the same day.

LINEUP SHEET + GAME DAY PROGRAM

Printed lineup sheets will not be available at games this season, they can be accessed online by visiting the game day program.

The Game Day Program will be available in the same spot, it comes complete with game notes, stats, team rosters and entry forms for the Rockets intermission contests.

The sheet and program will be uploaded by 3:00 p.m. on game days
