Corsaletti Named Big Dog of the Year

Portland, Maine- The Portland Sea Dogs and Allied Home Mortgage presented the 2007 Allied Home Mortgage Big Dog of the Year award to Jeff Corsaletti prior to Monday evening's game with the Trenton Thunder (Yankees). The Allied Home Mortgage Big Dog of the Year award is presented to the Sea Dogs player who earned the most Player of the Game awards throughout the season. Throughout the 2007 season 34 different Sea Dogs players won the award. Corsaletti took home 14 Big Dog of the Game awards to be named Allied Home Mortgage Big Dog of the Year.

Corsaletti is hitting .269 in 111 games with the Sea Dogs this season. He is fourth in the Eastern League with 84 runs scored. He leads the team with 77 walks and 17 stolen bases. Corsaletti was selected to the 2007 Eastern League All-Star Game in Norwich, Connecticut.

The 24-year-old has continually come through for the Sea Dogs this season in the clutch. Corsaletti is hitting .333 with runners in scoring position and with 2-outs and runners in scoring position, Corsaletti is batting .320 with 21 RBI. Corsaletti was selected by the Red Sox in the sixth round of the June 2005 draft.

Brandon Moss was named the Allied Home Mortgage Big Dog of the Year in 2005 and 2006. Jeff Bailey took home the award in 2004 and Justin Sherrod was the 2003 recipient.
