Confidence Building for Schneider

Medicine Hat Tigers News Release
Medicine Hat, AB - Nick Schneider has seen a carousel of goaltending partners during the 2015-2016 season and has made some new friends at the same time. But for the Leduc, Alberta native he has stayed steady for the Tigers, especially staying red hot over the past 2 months.
Schneider has changed Medicine Hat's fortunes. Instead of tumbling down the standings due to the roster moves, the Tigers have climbed within reach of the final wild card position in the Eastern Conference.
Schneider has seen how to steal games for the Tigers since his arrival in Medicine Hat at the trade deadline of the 2013-2014 season. He rode shotgun to now departed Marek Langhamer. Langhamer was drafted in the 7th Round by the Arizona Coyotes and currently has split time with the ECHL Rapid City Rush and AHL Springfield Falcons.
But with that small "mentorship" behind Langhamer, seemed to trigger something in Schneider, helping the 18 year old goaltender ink a contract with the NHL Calgary Flames this past off-season.
"Signing with the Flames was a surreal feeling," said Schneider in an earlier interview this season, "I am very excited to be apart of this organization. I don't know how to describe it."
Schneider didn't hear his name at this past June's NHL Entry Draft, but when the invite to Calgary Flames camp came up, Schneider took the opportunity. His confidence at the camp netted him an entry level contract coming back to the Tigers and that confidence has appeared to continue into this season.
Currently Schneider has posted a career high 28 games played, going 11-15-1-0 with a 3.49 GAA and 0.893 save percentage this season.
More recently has been Schneider's play, winning 4 of his last 6 games played including a 46 save performance against the Edmonton Oil Kings last Friday. In 7 starts since the Holiday break, Schneider is 3-3-1-0 and has faced 30 or more shots in 6 of those starts, pushing the Tigers within 1 point of the final playoff spot.
Needless to say, the Flames must be happy.
But so are the Tigers.
