ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter this week's action with an 8-35-3-0 record (6-15-2-0 at home, 2-20-1-0 on the road, 3-3 in overtime, 0-0 in shootouts) and in sixth place in the CENTRAL DIVISION...The ICE will finish with a record below the .500 mark for the first time since the 1998-99 campaign, ending a WHL record 16 year run of seasons with a .500 or better record (1999-2015)...KOOTENAY will conclude a four-game home stand January 22 versus SPOKANE before beginning a stretch of three consecutive away games January 23 against the CHIEFS.

ROSTER UPDATE: KOOTENAY is currently carrying 22 players (two goaltenders, seven defensemen and 13 forwards)...The ICE roster is made up of two 1995-born players, two 1996-born players, ten 1997-born players, seven 1998-born players and one 1999-born player...KOOTENAY has ten first-year players on its roster.

COLLEGE NIGHTS: COLLEGE OF THE ROCKIES students can take advantage of discounted ticket and concession packages at select KOOTENAY ICE home games with COLLEGE NIGHTS...Prices range from $12.00 for a game ticket to $20.00 for a ticket and meal combo...The next COLLEGE NIGHT is Friday, January 22 when the ICE host SPOKANE...For more information or to purchase tickets, contact the CAMPUS LIFE DEPARTMENT at the COLLEGE OF THE ROCKIES.

DID YOU KNOW: TANNER LISHCHYNSKY was named the 20th Captain in ICE franchise history January 12, becoming only the fifth Defenseman to be named Captain and first since JOEY LEACH (2013)...Goaltender WYATT HOFLIN surpassed JEFF GLASS to move into second among franchise goaltender games played leaders (145) January 15 versus PRINCE ALBERT...HOFLIN is ranked second among franchise saves leaders (3,813) and fourth in minutes played (7,775)...RYAN POULIOT registered his first point (assist) in an ICE uniform January 16 against MEDICINE HAT...MATT ALFARO has recorded points in 11 of his last 14 games (7-9-16)...ZAK ZBOROSKY has collected points in 11 of his last 15 games (6-8-14) and is five points shy of 100 career points...JESSE ZAHARICHUK has amassed points in his last six games (2-7-9) and in nine of his last 12 outings (4-10-14)...NOAH PHILP has tallied points in his last three games (1-2-3)...RIVER BEATTIE is two appearances shy of 100 career regular season games played...VINCE LOSCHIAVO is five games played short of 100 career appearances...KOOTENAY is the only team in the WHL to have not appeared in a shootout this season...The ICE played their 250th JANUARY game in franchise history January 15 versus PRINCE ALBERT...KOOTENAY holds an all-time JANUARY record of 136-83-29-3.

GAME TIME CHANGE: The home game to be played Wednesday, February 10 versus the TRI-CITY AMERICANS will now begin at the regular start time of 7:00 pm, instead of 12:00 pm.

INJURY: Forward JAEDON DESCHENEAU will be out of the KOOTENAY lineup indefinitely with an upper body injury.

ONE YEAR AGO: After 46 games of the 2014-15 season the ICE were 23-22-0-1, after 47 games 24-22-0-1 and after 48 games 25-22-0-1.
