
Condors Set to Take the Ice This Weekend

Bakersfield, Calif. â The Bakersfield Condors will play a home-and-home set with their newest rivals, the Las Vegas Wranglers, in a pair of pre-season contests scheduled for this weekend. Friday night's game will be in Las Vegas, while the two teams will square off on Saturday night at Centennial Garden.
The Condors will travel to Las Vegas, leaving Friday morning, to help break in the brand new Orleans Arena that night. It will be the first pre-season action for both clubs, and the puck will drop at 7:00pm.
On Saturday night, the Condors will host their first home game of the 2003-04 campaign, by welcoming in the Wranglers for the second half of the weekend matchup. Game time is 7:00pm, with the Garden doors opening at 6:00pm. Real Rock 104.3 and the Holiday Inn Select sponsor the game.
Fans can enjoy music from Ashes, last season's winner of the Condors Battle of the Bands competition. They'll be playing in the arena prior to the game and during the intermissions. Also during the first intermission, this year's Jr. Condors squad will take to the ice for a scrimmage. Individual tickets for the regular season will also go on sale on Saturday. The box office opens at 10:00am.
Neither pre-season match will be broadcast, instead Opening Night on Friday, October 17th will be the first game carried live on KGEO AM 1230. This season's KGEO broadcasts, home and away, will also be carried live on the Condors website, at www.bakersfieldcondors.com. The streaming video will also be available for home games.
The Condors will be talking hockey on KGEO tonight, however, as the Condors Coach's Show airs from 6:00-7:00pm, live from the Holiday Inn Select at 801 Truxtun. Tonight's show will feature a pair of newcomers to the team, with wingers Vince Malts and Todd Alexander.
The Condors make their ECHL debut in just eight days, on Friday, October 17th, hosting the Fresno Falcons Opening Night. Season ticket packages are available starting at just $48, and group outings are also available. Individual seats are on sale now for the preseason match against the Las Vegas Wranglers at Centennial Garden, which takes place on Saturday, October 11th. Tickets are $10 for lower bowl seating and $5 for the upper bowl. They may be purchased through the Centennial Garden box office, which will be open from Noon â 5:00pm the day of the Open House. The box office regularly opens at 10:00am Monday through Saturday. Tickets may also be purchased by phone through at 322-2525, online at www.ticketmaster.com or at any Ticketmaster location.
Condors droppings: Season Tickets for the 2003-2004 season are now available for pick-up at the Condors Administrative office at Centennial Garden between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm daily. Contact your ticket representative at 324-PUCK (7825) with any questions... The Condors website auction of the month for October features the "Raiderette Extravaganza" package. The winner receives two tickets to the Raiderettes game on November 22nd, a football autographed by the cheerleaders and a photo with the girls.
