Bakersfield Condors News Release
Trenton, N.J. - Lars-Peder Nagel had a goal and an assist as the Bakersfield Condors defeated the Trenton Titans 3-1 at the Sovereign Bank Arena on Sunday afternoon. The Condors are 5-0-0 on their current seven-game road trip.
The fast paced first period saw the game remain scoreless through 20 minutes. Trenton held Bakersfield to just five shots in the first, despite killing off three Condors power plays. Meanwhile, it was while the Condors were shorthanded during the second period that they took the lead. Connor James' 11th goal of the season floated over G Andrew Allen and in for his third shortie of the season. Bakersfield killed four Trenton power plays during the period and eventually took a 2-0 advantage. Dennis Shiryaev notched his eighth of the season by banging in a rebound on a 3-on-2 with linemates Lars-Peder Nagel and Vlad Serov assisting.
Trenton pulled within a goal during the third period, when a flurry of penalties led to a pair of abbreviated power plays for the Titans. On one of those, Scott Bertoli connected on a one-timer from between the circles for his 12th of the year. But for the second straight night, Nagel iced the game with an empty net goal for the 3-1 win.
The Condors head back to Reading on Tuesday night for a rematch with the Royals at 4:05 p.m. Pacific Time. Bakersfield handed Reading a 4-3 shootout defeat on Friday night from the Sovereign Center. They return home on Saturday, January 15th against Vegas once again for the final time they will be in town. That game is Nip & Puck Night, featuring a personal makeover giveaway, sponsored by Bright House Networks, The Big 96.5 and Shaanti Medispa. One lucky fan will win a personal makeover valued at $8,000.
