Titans Fall to the Condors at Home, 3-1

TRENTON, NJ (January 9, 2005) – The Trenton Titans managed just one goal against Western Division leading Bakersfield in their 3-1 loss to the Condors in front of 5,109 fans at Sovereign Bank Arena.

After a scoreless first period, the Condors took control of the contest midway through the second as Bakersfield All-Star Connor James tallied his 11th goal of the season at 7:01. The scoring opportunity came on Bakersfield 's penalty kill, giving James his third short-handed goal of the season – tying him for the league lead.

Almost nine minutes later, Dennis Shiryaev knocked home a Lars-Peder Nagel rebound at 15:58 for his eighth goal of the year. The Condors maintained a 2-0 lead through the end of the second frame.

Scott Bertoli logged his 12th goal of the season at 8:48 in the third period to get the Titans back winthin one goal. However, Trenton couldn't find any more offensive output against Condors' goaltender Randy Petruk – who registered 21 saves for his ninth win of the season.

Nagel punched home an open-netter, his 12th goal of the year, to complete the Condors victory. Andrew Allen stopped 23 of 25 shots as his record falls to 10-4-1 on the season.
