
All-Time Record Crowd Sees Wranglers Win Fifth Straight

Las Vegas, NV â The Las Vegas Wranglers (16-12-4, 36 points) defeated the Peoria Rivermen (12-15-4, 28 points) 4-3 on Saturday night in front of 7,310 fans at the Orleans Arena. The new all-time record crowd of 7,310 surpassed the previous high of 7,242 set on March 20th, 2004 against Idaho. Winger Doug Wright scored the final two goals to lead Las Vegas to the team's season-high fifth straight. Goalie Sebastien Centomo made 29 saves, improving to 10-5-2 on the season. Center Jeff Attrard and Dustin Johner each scored for the Wranglers. Las Vegas scored on the power play for the fifth straight game. Las Vegas will host Fresno on Monday night at 7:05 pm.
In the first, the two teams traded goals and Peoria jumped out to a 1-0 lead with a shorthanded goal by Rejean Stringer. The former Wrangler scored on a rebound at 8:42 of the opening period. At 14:23 Las Vegas scored to tie the game at one when Jeff Attard was sprung on a breakaway by defenseman Jon Krall. Attard's goal was his eighth of the season.
In the second period, Johner lifted Las Vegas to a 2-1 lead just 3:37 into the period with his 15th goal of the season. Peoria countered again to tie the game at two when Stringer netted his second of the night on a rebound at 18:21 of the period.
In the third period, Winger Doug Wright scored twice to lift Las Vegas to a 4-2 lead. Wright first came on a 2-on-1 with Attard as Wright snapped the puck under the crossbar at 8:47 of the period. Wright's second tally of the night came on the power play at 15:32 to give the Wranglers a two-goal lead. Peoria's Brian McCullough trimmed the deficit to one, scoring his 13th at 17:00 of the third period for the final score of 4-3.
The Wranglers will host the Fresno Falcons on Monday night at 7:05 pm. Thursday, San Diego makes a return to the Orleans and next Friday Victoria will visit the Wranglers.
