CONDORSTOWN, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors home opener is tonight at 6 p.m. against the Tucson Roadrunners. Doors open at 5 p.m.; members can enter at 4:45 p.m.

TONIGHT The Bakersfield Condors play the first of 34 home games tonight, when they host the Tucson Roadrunners. It is the first meeting all-time between the two teams with Tucson joining the Pacific Division in 2016-17 as the Arizona Coyotes top development team.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT Bakersfield split their opening series of the season in Winnipeg against the Manitoba Moose. After a 4-1 win on Tuesday, the Condors took a 3-2 lead with them into the third period on Thursday only to see the Moose score three times for a 5-4 decision. Rookie netminder Nick Ellis made both starts and won his debut on Tuesday stopping 30 of 31 shots.

Tucson continues their three-game road swing to open the season after a 2-1 overtime win in Stockton last night. LW Brendan Perlini scored the overtime game-winner as the Roadrunners earned their first franchise victory. The Roadrunners opened the season with a 5-3 loss in San Diego on Friday, Oct. 14.

HOME OPENERS The Condors won their only American Hockey League home opener a season ago, 1-0, over the Grand Rapids Griffins. Tonight is the 19th all-time home opener for the Condors, who have a record of 11-6-1 all-time in home openers between the WCHL, ECHL, and AHL.

KHAIRA PICKS UP WHERE HE LEFT OFF Condors C Jujhar Khaira, who had six multi-point games last season, started the 2016-17 campaign with back-to-back, two-point nights. After two goals in the season opener on Tuesday, the Surrey, BC native followed it up with a goal and assist in Thursday's contest.

CONDORS NOTES Khaira is the Condors leader in shots with 8 thru two games... RW Taylor Beck has three assists over the first two games of the season... LW Joey Benik has goals in two straight games... Benik and D Matthew Benning each scored their first professional goals this week... C Jere Sallinen, who has played over 300 games in the KHL and Liiga, scored his first goal in North America on Thursday... F Kris Newbury was signed to a PTO earlier this week. The 34-year old is 64th all-time in AHL scoring... The Condors have scored at least one goal in every period this season.

ROADRUNNERS NOTES D Zybnek Michalek made his Tucson debut last night in Stockton. He has played 781 NHL games with four teams and played his first AHL game since 2003 when he won a Calder Cup championship with the Houston Aeros... G Marek Langhamer stopped 43 of 44 shots last night in the win... LW Bredan Perlini is the younger brother of former ECHL Condor Brett Perlini... D Kyle Wood has five points (1g-4a) thru two games to lead all rookie d-men.
