Griffins Assign Caito to Walleye

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Griffins on Saturday assigned rookie defenseman Matt Caito to the ECHL's Toledo Walleye.
Caito, 23, made his Griffins debut during Tuesday's 4-3 win at Iowa. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound blueliner debuted professionally with the Walleye at the end of the 2015-16 season, appearing in eight games in Toledo after concluding a four-year collegiate career at Miami University.
Off to a 3-1 start, the Griffins will entertain the defending Calder Cup champion Cleveland Monsters tonight at 7 p.m. at Van Andel Arena.
