Bakersfield Condors News Release

The Bakersfield Condors (18-10-6, 42pts) picked up a point in a 4-3 overtime loss to the San Jose Barracuda (20-11-3, 43pts) on Saturday. Viljami Marjala had a multi-point night (1g-1a).

San Jose raced out to a 2-0 lead, scoring first for the third consecutive time in the season series. Bakersfield thought they cut it within one but a James Hamblin power-play goal was disallowed for a kicking motion. The Condors would breakthrough in the final minute with Josh Samanski (7th) beating Jakub Skarek for his second in as many games to make it 2-1.

After just seven shots through 30 minutes, the Condors picked it up in the final minutes of the second period. Marjala (8th) danced down the slot to tie it at 2-2 with 7:25 left in the second. He then set up Hamblin (9th) from the left-wing circle just 28 seconds later to give the Condors a 3-2 lead after two periods.

San Jose tied it in the third and then won it with 2:18 left in overtime, 4-3.

Bakersfield has points in eight straight on the road (6-0-2) and six straight overall (5-0-1). Due to injury and illness the Condors played a player short of a full lineup. Riley Stillman returned from Edmonton.
