
Condors add rookie goalie as emergency backup

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors have added G John Hallas as an emergency backup goaltender today, as announced by Head Coach Marty Raymond. Hallas will join the team in Victoria for Game 1 of the playoffs on Thursday.
Hallas, 22, made his pro debut with the Mississippi Sea Wolves (ECHL) in late March after wrapping up his college career at St. Lawrence University (NCAA). He appeared in two games for the Sea Wolves, making 10 saves in 27 minutes, while registering a win and not allowing a single goal.
The 6-foot, 175-pound native of Largo, Florida led St. Lawrence this season with 15 starts in net, going 6-7-1 with a 2.59 GAA and .910 save percentage. Hallas finished second on the team in GAA and posted the Saints lone shutout of the season.
Upcoming Games: The Condors are in Victoria for Games 1 and 2 of the first round of the playoffs this week. Game 1 kicks the series off and will be played on Thursday while the two teams face off from Victoria again on Saturday for Game 2. Both games start at 7:05 p.m. and will be broadcast on the all-new ESPN Radio AM1230, www.bakersfieldcondors.com and B2 Networks.
In addition, both games in Victoria will be shown live on B2 Networks at the Holiday Inn Select next door to Rabobank Arena, where there will be food and drink specials during the games!
After the first two games, the Condors host the Salmon Kings for Games 3, 4 and 5 (if necessary) at The Nest. Everyone in attendance at Game 3 on Tuesday, April 15 will receive free rally towels, while everyone at Game 4 on Wednesday, April 16 will receive free lightning sticks, both courtesy of KGET-TV 17, Goodwill Industries and Cal Water. Doors open at 6 p.m., puck drops at 7 p.m. both nights.
