Patrik Hersley Assigned To Reading

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, today announced that defenseman Patrik Hersley has been assigned to Reading by Manchester. Hersley (6'3/205) (21), who hails from Malmo, Sweden, played twenty games in two separate stints with the Royals during the regular season, scoring three goals, assisting on fifteen others (eighteen points) and picking up eighteen penalty minutes. Hersley registered at least one point in eleven of his last fifteen games with the Royals (3g-14a=17pts). At the time of his most recent recall to Manchester, on February 21, 2008, Hersley was riding a three game assist streak, which included a helper on the overtime game winner scored by Dany Roussin in the 3-2 win over the Elmira Jackals on February 20. In forty-two games with Manchester this year, Hersley scored a goal and assisted on eight others (nine points), while picking up twenty-seven penalty minutes.

The Royals face-off against the Elmira Jackals in Game One of the North Division Semi-Final best-of-seven playoff series on Friday, April 11 (7:35 pm) at First Arena in Elmira, New York. The series returns to the Sovereign Center for Game Two on Saturday, April 12 (7:05 pm). The game night broadcast on Friday will begin at 7:05 pm with the pre-game warm-up show on ESPN Radio 1240 am in Ephrata, as well as on the internet through the Royals' website, www.royalshockey.com. Streaming video is available on a pay per view basis through the B2 Networks.
