Fresno Grizzlies News Release

FRESNO, CA - For the third consecutive year the Fresno Grizzlies will host Faith and Family Night at Chukchansi Park. This year's event is slated for Wednesday, August 20th with the Grizzlies and Sacramento River Cats meet in the latest chapter of the Highway-99 Showdown Series. Fans can take advantage of a special ticket offer for admission to the game and to a special, pre-game concert in Tulare Plaza.

The Faith Nights Baseball Tour 2008 touches down in Fresno on Wednesday, August 20th, the first of three California dates on the schedule. Gates at Chukchansi Park will open at 4:00pm that day, with the pre-game concert scheduled to begin at 5:00pm. The lineup features opening acts RunKidRun and Mark Stuart (who performed at Fresno's inaugural Faith and Family Night in 2006 as a member of Audio Adrenaline).

The headlining act, for the second consecutive year, are Canadian-born rockers Hawk Nelson. The foursome from Ontario has become popular in the Christian music scene and was voted "Favorite New Artist" by CCM Magazine in their February 2006 Reader's Choice Awards. Their ties to the sports world, beyond the Faith Nights Baseball Tour, have been strengthened over the past few years due to their music being used to promote Sunday Night Football and the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

In addition to the musical acts, characters from VeggieTales will appear at Chukchansi Park and lead the crowd in their own version of the 7th inning stretch. VeggieTales is a series of animated children's films, and the characters have also starred in books, games, and toys.

Grizzlies fans can take advantage of a special ticket offer for Wednesday that includes both the concert, and the evening's game between Fresno and the rival Sacramento River Cats. Fans can purchase admission to the concert and a Field Level Reserved ticket for just $15, while a Super View ticket package is just $17.

The Grizzlies continue their final homestand of the 2008 season on Monday night at Chukchansi Park when they look to take their third straight game from the Las Vegas 51's, Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
