Nashville Sounds News Release
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Nashville Sounds return to Greer Stadium on Wednesday to open a nine-game homestand, their final homestand of the 2008 season. The Sounds' final home contests will include series against the Round Rock Express (AAA-Astros) and Albuquerque Isotopes (AAA-Marlins).
With two Thirsty Thursdays, the final Purity Faith Night of the season, and other nightly promotions, it's a great opportunity to watch the Sounds before the end of the 2008 season.
The homestand opener and first game of a five-game series against Round Rock will be at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, with gates opening at 4:30 p.m.
The Sounds continue the series on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Thirsty Thursday means fans can enjoy $1 draft beverages until 8:30 p.m. or the end of the fifth inning, whichever comes first, and the Miller Lite Concert Series will continue with a free one-hour, pre-game show by The John Carter Band on the stage inside the first-base entrance.
Friday night's game starts at 7:00 p.m. with gates opening at 5:30 p.m., and a dazzling fireworks display will immediately follow the game, presented by your local Buick-Pontiac-GMC dealers.
The Sounds will host their final Purity Faith Night of the season on Saturday night with the game starting at 6:00 p.m. Fans can invite their youth group, singles group, Sunday school class, or any other church-related function to a fun-filled family environment at Greer Stadium! A pre-game concert will take place at 4:30 featuring recording artist Brandon Heath and opening act Soul Desire, and a dazzling fireworks display will fill the sky immediately following the game. Information regarding special Purity Faith Night group packages is available online at www.nashvillesounds.com.
Sunday's series finale against the Express starts at 6:00 p.m. with gates opening at 4:30 p.m. A Sunday home game means $1 ice cream sundaes courtesy of Purity Sundae Sundays.
The Sounds will open a four-game series against Albuquerque on Monday at 6:00 p.m., and fans can enjoy Red Hot Chicago Dollar Dog Night where hot dogs are only $1 at all concession stands. Gates will open at 4:30 p.m.
Tuesday's game against the Isotopes starts at 6:00 p.m. and will be another Popcorn, Indiana 2-for-1 Tuesday where fans who present a receipt showing the purchase of a 4 oz. bag of Popcorn, Indiana Kettlecorn from Walgreen's will receive two tickets for the price of one for every Tuesday home game.
After a 12:00 p.m. matinee on Wednesday against the Isotopes, the Sounds will play their final home game of the 2008 season at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday night. Nashville's season will go out with a bang, though, with one last Thirsty Thursday for fans to enjoy $1 draft beverages throughout the concourse until the end of the fifth inning or 8:30 p.m., whichever comes first. The Miller Lite Concert Series will also conclude with a free one-hour, pre-game concert at 5:30 p.m. featuring The John Carter Band on the stage inside the first-base entrance.
Following the homestand, the Sounds will travel to face the New Orleans Zephyrs in the final four games of the 2008 season.
