Columbus Clippers Honors Local DeVry University "Student of the Month"

COLUMBUS, Ohio - August 7, 2015 - This season, Minor League Baseball (MiLB) named DeVry University as the "Official Education and Career Development Partner of Minor League Baseball." This summer, MiLB and DeVry University are recognizing outstanding undergraduate and graduate students from the university who demonstrate citizenship, personal and academic leadership, and dedication to their fields of study as the "Student of the Month."
Mittie Cheatham from the DeVry University campus in Columbus, Ohio, is one of 25 students nationwide to receive this honor. Cheatham will be honored Saturday, Aug. 8, at the game against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs.
Cheatham is pursuing a master's degree in human resource management from DeVry University's Keller Graduate School of Management. Active on campus, Cheatham is the president of Sigma Tau Delta (DeVry University's local Alpha Phi Delta chapter), an international English honor society and a student member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). She is also the owner of Mitts Ice, LLC, a mobile Italian Ice Push Cart. Cheatham volunteers her time by tutoring other students on campus and tutoring with the Ohio Reads Program and helping to maintain the yard for the elderly residents of the Teakwood Community.

"As a community partner, we welcome the opportunity to provide Mittie with a special ballpark experience and recognize her for her accomplishments."
