The Bulls play the opener of a three-game set against the Louisville Bats in the third series of a season-long 10-game homestand. Durham is 2-5 to kick off the homestand, is 3-8 over its last 11 games, is 5-13 over its last 18, and is just 7-15 since the All-Star break. The Bulls have dropped 31 of their last 46 contests to go from a 2.0-game lead in the IL South to an 11.5-game deficit, their largest division deficit of the season. Louisville - the Cincinnati Reds' top affiliate - is coming off a four-game split at Norfolk, but is still 7-3 over its last 10. The Bats have held their opponents to three runs or fewer in all six games they've played this month.
