Clippers Fall to Kings in Nail-Biter

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Agua Caliente Clippers (4-4) drop their second straight game, losing a Black Friday nail-biter to the Stockton Kings (6-3), 113-109.

Both teams were evenly matched and exchanged blows throughout the game, with the Kings striking first with a 12-point lead in the first half, followed by the Agua Caliente's nine-point advantage in the third quarter. After 19 lead changes, 11 of which came in the final frame, the back-and-forth would eventually go Stockton's way after a Kyle Guy putback with 34.1 seconds put them ahead 108-107.

Five players scored in double-figures for the Clippers, including three 20 point performances. James Palmer Jr.'s game-high 24 points on 8-of-19 shooting and Johnathan Motley's 21 points and eight rebounds paced the Clipper starters. Donte Grantham put up another solid performance off the bench, recording 23 points on 9-of-16 shooting from the field and knocking down four of his nine three-point attempts.

Guy provided a huge lift for the Kings, scoring 19 points off the bench, despite making only five of his 21 shot attempts. The Stockton bench outscored Agua Caliente's 56-34.

The Clippers return home on Sunday, hoping to return to win column as they host the Santa Cruz Warriors (4-5). Tip-off is at 3 p.m. PST inside the Toyota Arena in Ontario, Calif.
