Columbus Clippers News Release

Despite another strong outing from Clippers starting pitching, this time in the form of southpaw Ross Detwiler (0-3), Buffalo's was stronger in lefty Scott Diamond (4-5) as the Bisons (28-25) rode his efforts to a 4-0 win over Columbus (29-23) at Coca-Cola Field in front of an impressive crowd of 16,866.

Detwiler went six innings, allowing two earned runs on six hits while striking out six batters.

Diamond tossed eight scoreless innings, allowing five hits as he punched out two Clippers on the day.

Jesus Montero led off the Buffalo fourth inning with a solo shot to right center, his sixth long ball of the year, to give the Bisons a 1-0 lead.

Matt Dominguez's RBI single to right field in the sixth inning plated Andy Burns to extend the Buffalo lead to two.

Tony Sanchez's two-run bomb over the wall in left field in the seventh ended the scoring for the day.

The Clippers will exchange dance partners tomorrow night as they head to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to take on the RailRiders for four games before returning home to Huntington Park. First pitch from PNC Field is slated for 6:35 p.m.
