INDIANAPOLIS - Four Indians pitchers combined to shut out Rochester, 2-0, while keeping the Red Wings out of the hit column until one out in the ninth during a near no-hitter on Wednesday at Victory Field.

Tyler Glasnow (5-2) walked four and struck out three in the start, earning his fifth win. He worked five hitless frames before the rain began in earnest, and the subsequent 2:15 delay made certain that his day would go no further.

Logan Darnell (5-5) took the loss for Rochester (29-24) after recording five innings and gave up just one run on two hits.

After the two starters traded zeroes for four innings, Indianapolis (27-24) broke through in the bottom of the fifth thanks to a triple from Jason Rogers. Danny Ortiz then floated a ball to right for a sacrifice fly to put the Indians ahead before the weather arrived.

Following the lengthy delay, Cory Luebke came on for the Tribe and struck out five men in two innings. He then passed the torch to Trey Haley for the eighth, who struck out the side.

Jorge Rondon took over in the ninth and induced a groundball out to short to open the frame. Rochester first baseman James Beresford then singled up the middle to break up the no-hit bid.

The last combined Indians no-hitter came on April 29, 2012 from the trio of Justin Wilson, Jose Diaz, and Doug Slaten.

The series finale will take place tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. Trevor Williams (0-1, 2.84) is slated to face off against southpaw Tommy Milone (2-0, 2.22).
