
Claws Return Home in Sight of 5-Million

LAKEWOOD, NJ - The BlueClaws return home Monday night for an eight-game, seven-day homestand within sight of 5-million fans.
Entering Monday, the team is 20,290 fans away from becoming the fastest team in New Jersey and South Atlantic League history to reach the 5-million fan mark, a number that will fall this week.
The 5-millionth fan will receive season tickets to the 2013 season, an autographed team jersey and other apparel, plus the chance to take batting practice on the field with the BlueClaws.
On August 24, 2009, then-seven year old Matthew Currie of Toms River became the team's 4-millionth fan. Curry joined Lou Ameika of Lakewood (3-millionth fan, July 16, 2007), Al Spinney of Manahawkin (2-millionth fan, June 22, 2005) and Sean Morales of Jackson (1-millionth fan, April 26, 2003) on the list of milestone BlueClaws fans.
Since the team's inception in 2001, 26 game-day staffers have worked all12 seasons for the organization. Meanwhile five front office staff members have spent all 12 seasons with the BlueClaws: General Manager Geoff Brown; Brandon Marano, Assistant General Manager of Operations; Hal Hansen, Director of Promotions; Jim DeAngelis, Director of Community Relations; Mike Ryan, Director of Marketing.
This Week at FirstEnergy Park Monday: A double-header against Delmarva starts at 6:05. Kids Eat Free thanks to ShopRite and there will be a post-game Twizzler giveaway thanks to Hershey's.
Tuesday: The first 2,000 fans will receive a BlueClaws Umbrella thanks to Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey. Plus, the BlueClaws will welcome several Olympians for Olympics Night. Chase and Derby, the Trenton Thunder bat dogs, will be at the game as well on a TD Bank Senior Day Tuesday.
Wednesday: It's Ticket Amnesty Night, where fans can exchange any unused 2012 BlueClaws ticket for a ticket to this game. Plus, the first 2,000 fans will receive a BlueClaws Trucker Hat thanks to Home Depot.
Thursday: On a 66MVP Thirsty Thursday with dollar beer and soda in the Coors Light WRAT Trap, the BlueClaws will also welcome the Phillie Phanatic for his first visit of the year, thanks to OceanFirst Bank. The BlueClaws will also host a Troop Supply Drive, collecting items for troops overseas as part of Military Appreciation Night.
Friday: As always, Friday means post-game fireworks thanks to Toyota/Scion World of Lakewood.
Saturday: The BlueClaws will welcome wrestling legend Bret "The Hitman" Hart to FirstEnergy Park on Saturday, thanks to Central Jersey Blood Center. The line forms when the gate opens at 6:00 and the signing will begin after the 7:05 first pitch.
Sunday: On Father's Day, father's and their children can enjoy a post-game catch on the field. Plus, Kids Eat Free thanks to ShopRite and it's a Monmouth Park Kids Character Sunday. The BlueClaws have also partnered with Go4theGoal Pediatric Cancer Foundation and all players and coaches will be wearing gold shoelaces.
