HICKORY, NC - A game-winning RBI single by LF Jeremy Williams in the bottom of the ninth lifted the Hickory Crawdads to the 4-3 walk-off win against the Greenville Drive, before 1,363 fans at L.P. Frans Stadium on Sunday evening.

The Drive (31-31) took the game's first lead with three runs against RHP Nick Martinez in the top of the third inning. LF Matt Marquis led off with a base hit and quickly stole his way to second base. SS Jose Vinicio advanced Marquis to third with a bunt base hit, before RF Drew Turocy loaded the bases with a walk one out later. 3B David Renfroe swung the Drive in front with a two-run single, leading to an RBI sacrifice fly by 1B Boss Moanaroa for the 3-0 advantage.

Greenville RHP Noe Ramirez kept the Drive in front with five perfect innings of work against the 'Dads. However, Hickory (34-28) struck against RHP Jason Garcia to tie it in the bottom of the seventh. With one away, 3B Drew Robinson sparked the comeback with a double. LF Jeremy Williams then bounced into a fielder's choice with SS Jose Vinicio electing to try to throw Robinson out at third, but he misfired the throw, enabling Robinson to score on the play. After DH Jorge Alfaro reached on another fielder's choice that failed to record an out, Williams and Alfaro completed a double steal to move them to third and second, respectively. One out later, 3B Trever Adams drove both runners home with a two-run single through the left side of the infield, squaring the score at 3-3.

After three scoreless relief innings by Hickory LHP Will Lamb, RHP Phil Klein (W, 5-0) followed suit with scoreless stanzas in the eighth and ninth innings to keep the game tied heading into the bottom of the ninth. Facing RHP Matty Ott (L, 4-3), Robinson started the charge with a double to left-center field, swinging himself into scoring position. Williams then ripped a line drive base hit to shallow center field, just out of the diving range of CF Henry Ramos, bringing Robinson home for the game-winning run with the 'Dads walking off, 4-3.
