SPOKANE, Wash. - After swiping third base, LeDarious Clark quickly picked himself up and scampered to cross home plate after the pickoff attempt from Salem-Keizer catcher Miguel Gomez drifted into left field, giving the Spokane Indians a 4-3 extra-innings win over the Volcanoes in front of 6,257 fans at Avista Stadium on Saturday night. It was Military Appreciation Night, presented by The Big 99.9 Coyote Country, ESPN 700 and Nspire Magazine.

Clark was hit by the pitch from Volcanoes reliever Ryan Halstead in the second extra frame. Halstead then threw the ball away on a pickoff attempt allowing Clark to advance to second. Spokane's center fielder then stole his 20th base, and scored the Indians fourth and final unearned run of the evening.

In the fourth inning, a throwing error by Salem first baseman Chris Shaw allowed Leon Byrd Jr., to reach base. Two outs later, Todd McDonald hit his first home run for the Indians, a shot into right field to give Spokane a 3-2 lead. McDonald, an international signing by the Texas Rangers out of Brisbane, Australia in 2013, had hit just one home run in his rookie stateside appearance for the Arizona Rookie Rangers last season.

Adam Choplick scattered two hits in three innings of work. He earned his third win, second on the team, and struck out three batters to push his total to 30 to the season. He has a team-low 1.35 ERA.

Dylan Moore popped up in his first at-bat in the infield, but Shaw misplayed the ball allowing the Spokane third baseman to reach second. Yeyson Yrizarri advanced Moore to third with a single, then Clark was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Byrd, hit a deep fly ball to center to bring home Moore.

Nick Green started the game for Spokane, allowed five hits, two runs and struck out two in five innings. Blake Bass contributed by allowing just two hits and one run in three innings. Shaw hit his second home run of the series.
